Our History

In 1967, Ralph Lauren began designing wide neckties under the brand name 'Polo'. In his first year in business, he sold $500,000 worth of ties to the most prestigious men's clothing stores in the U.S., including Bloomingdales, Paul Stuart, and Neiman Marcus.

These wide ties challenged convention and revolutionised the way men dressed. At the same time, it was a metaphor for believing in yourself. "It wasn't the tie. It was a commitment to myself. It was a commitment to do my best and to give my all."

Since then, the Ralph Lauren brand has continued to stand for providing quality products, celebrating authenticity and heritage, and inviting people to take part in our dream. We were the innovators of lifestyle advertisements that tell a story and the first to create stores that immerse customers in a world of Ralph Lauren.
